Tiny tower used to be my favourite game. I used to be so addicted the game. Tiny tower is an app game created by Nimblebit. It’s actually a business simulation game that is easy. It’s not as complex as Simcity where you build the whole city by building towers and managing the government related matters.
This game is a little different. Once the game is launched
on your handheld device, you will go through a short tutorial. Once you go pass
the few minutes tutorial, you can continue playing the game.
This is how the games go; you have to types of floor you can
build. It either a choice between a residential floor or a commercial floor. In
residential floor, is where tenants live and pay their rents every day. In
commercial floor, you get choices to choose what type of business you want.
Whether is F&B or Service etc.
Who works in the commercial floor? This is where the tenants
come in. In each residential floor, there are up to five tenants living in it.
If you tap on the floor, there will be pop up tab with the basic details of
each Bitizens (Residents). If you tap on the bitizen picture, there will
profile of their skills sets on each commercial.
Bitizen information |
There is also community portal known as bitbook where you can read all the
bitizens comments. It’s sort of like twitter mixed with facebook where they
post something and other bitzens will like the comment.

The money you earn is the one that allows you to buy more
floors and manage your commercials. The higher the level is, the more expensive
the floor gets (Just like how HDB flats works). If you buy a second floor
house, the house price tends to be lesser compared to a 10th floor
house. It’s the same here. The more you built, the higher you have to pay.
On top of that, you have to stock up on goods for each
commercial. If you do not stock up on goods on commercial floor, it will run
out of stock and you will no longer have business as the shop will be closed
until you restock. This means you are losing your money.
E.G. of different types of commercial. You can also rename the floor. |
There are also tower bux. Tower bux are available in few
ways. You can purchase tower bux through real money. If you are like me (who
prefers not to spend money) then you can earn the tower bux in a couple of
ways. When:
1.
You fully stock up three items all together in
one floor
2.
A floor is completely built.
3.
You provide the dream job for tenant.
4.
All tenants occupy the resident’s floor.
5.
You find the bitizen that another party was
searching to deliver something.
What is the purpose of tower bux? Well you can use them to
upgrade your commercial floor so that your profit will be higher, build a
faster lift, quicken the time to stock up each good or the whole floor, or to
finish the construction within seconds.
In general there are two types of currency: Tower bux and
coins. Coins are mainly used to buy floors and goods (basically almost all the
purchases) and tower bux is for special activities that were mentioned above.
Both can be purchased with real money but the only difference between both of
them is you will always get coins (whether you are playing or not) as long as
there are bitizens in the tower.
Ok there are also VIPS in this game that helps you in the
game to earn money. There are real estate agent who will help you fill up the
apartment with bitizens (Max 5), Delivery man who helps you to stock up the
item by 3 hours, Celebrity who attracts a big crows of citizen to shop at the
certain floor and lastly big Spender who buys out the whole stock in one floor.
These VIPS only appears occasionally. VIPS can be used
whenever it is required. We can keep them in the lobby (up to 5 VIP in the
lobby) and use them when it is needed. These VIPs are useful during crisis or
in need to increase profit.
Last point, you also get to control the lift. You have to
bring bitizens up and down by pressing the button that appears at the bottom
left of the screen. You are able to see a bubble over their head stating which
floor they wish to go. You also get to change the colour of the walls of each
level. 100 paints for 1 tower bux.
Lift upgrade |
The whole objective of this game is to build and manage the
tallest tower you could ever build. It’s so easy to play and it very addictive.
I feel it’s caters to all types of player and a very ideal hand held game. (Fun fact: Apparently the current highest floor is 215. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSb2w6UZmXI)
Sometimes, people don’t want to commute too much of time to
games and it suits them. In tiny tower, even if you run out of stock, Bitizens
still pay for the rent. Thus, you still earn money but not as fast as earning
money while you stock up every floor. Even though it uses real time to get
certain activities done, it still does not fully affects you.
Simsfreeplay |
That was really annoying as I have to dedicate my time to it
(That was in 2012). Unlike tiny towers, it shows notifications but it does not
force me to handle the consequences like Sims freeplay. Also I am fan of
simulation and this has been the least complicated simulation I have ever
played.
I may not have covered every single detail in here as there are too much of details I have to go
into and I don’t want to bore the reader but all I can say is this game is
awesome. I am going to try out tiny towers Vegas which seem to have good rating
and reviews! I guess it’s very similar to Tiny towed but in Vegas content.

To end this post, all I can say is TINY TOWER FTW!
