Traffic Rush

Today, I am going to blog about a game app called Traffic Rush. It is created and developed by a company called Donut games. Traffic rush is available in both play store and App store. The game is free on android (in app purchases), and $1.28 on app store.
This is not a puzzle game like Rush hour (puzzle game available as an app and board games).  Traffic Rush is a casual game with simple objectives.  It’s an endless game that could be played anytime you desire.

In this game, there are two game modes. They are “Classic” and “Rail Rush”. Before I further explain, I just want to talk a little bit on the game controls. The game controls are straight forward. Since is an iPhone game meant for touch screen phone, you have to swipe the upcoming vehicles towards other direction to accelerate. Double tap to stop the vehicle. If the vehicle stops after you double tap, you can make it move by swiping on the vehicle. Also, if a vehicle is stagnant for too long, it will drive off by itself.

For classic game mode, it’s all about vehicles moving in an intersection. There are few types of vehicle. Some vehicles move faster than the rest. Vehicles come in all four directions (North, East, South, and West). The player has to ensure that the vehicle does not collide into one another by controlling the vehicles. There will be count meter on top. It counts the number of vehicles that rode pass without any accident.

Accident is caused if you do not control the traffic.

For Rail Rush, it’s about trains going on tracks that intersect with one another. It’s very similar to classis mode. The only difference is the colours of the trains are different. I personally feel Rail Rush is a little more challenging. Beside the trains, there are three bonus games. These bonus modes are about same coloured cars, hitting the mole, and tapping on the bushes and flowers. These bonus rounds are just to boost up scores. It’s not a compulsory to play the bonus score min games while you are controlling the trains. It’s also more of challenge to see whether you have the capabilities to multi task in the game.

Flowers, coloured cars, bushes, mole hole. All during the gameplay itself

These are two types of game mode in the game. Even though this game has simple mechanics, it is still addictive. I do believe it’s due to the counter. I played the game because the game is simple, challenging and also the counter. I am always aiming to increase the score. At times, I play the game with my siblings so that our scores will always high.

I personally this app is addictive because it's an endless game. It does not really affect you when you do not play for awhile. Certain real time game affects your progress in the game. For an example, Smurf village. In Smurf village (I wrote an article about it before!), if you do not look after your crops, it will wither. Thus, you will end up losing money. In Traffic Rush, you do not go through such loss as the game concept is different.

This is more of a game that could be played while your hair is getting done, or waiting for a bus or even walking back home. It's a kind of a game that you play when you are bored or feel like you want to achieve something. Basically, you could play this game anytime and not worry about the progression of the game.

I would definitely recommend this game to other people and causal gamers.
